Welcome to the history website for St Paul’s Parish Church in Shipley, West Yorkshire. The parish history for this website was updated as part of a project to increase access to the heritage that is St Paul’s Church. The project also included schools work, tours round church and an expanded Parish Guidebook giving history and information about the church and its contents. These, along with the re-slating of the south roof and other repairs, were funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and grants from the Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust and the AllChurches Trust. We are most grateful for this generosity.
Accessible from the drop down menu above, there are two main sections to the site:
- The History of St Paul’s tells the history of Shipley and the building and development of the church.
- A Guide to the Church covers the interior of the church and gives information on the features of interest.
From here you can also access scanned copies of other historical guide books to the church and visit our Virtual Tour website. For more information about St Paul’s today, or to get in touch with us, please visit the St Paul’s Parish Church website.
